China has recently created a number of new regulations impacting product importers. It is trying to set up a full battery collection system, and is considering a shared responsibility system for used electronics, with product makers paying half the cost.

HONG KONG Country Page 2002 February 21, 2002 Hong Kong has some voluntary recycling programs in effect, but there are no recycling laws "let the market handle it" is still the rule.
